Capri Schafner

Capri Schafner is an accomplished professional with extensive experience at Southwest Research Institute, currently serving as Group Leader in R&D since February 2021, and previously held roles as Transportation Systems Program Area Manager and Acting Group Lead since February 2020, as well as Specialist in Business Capture & Proposal Management from May 2017 to May 2020. Prior to this, Capri was the Office Manager at the Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute at UTSA from November 2011 to May 2017, managing operations for over 25 employees and multiple research focus areas. Responsibilities included coordinating grant proposal submissions, establishing office branding, and serving as the main point of contact for students and community partners. Capri holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Communication from Texas A&M University.
