Kevin Jones

Kevin Jones is an accomplished engineering professional specializing in battery research and electric powertrain systems. Currently serving as the Battery Research and Innovation Principal Engineer at Southwest Research Institute since March 2018, Kevin leads a team of engineers in battery research initiatives, oversees project management, and enhances safety protocols. Previous experiences include managing lab operations, designing training programs for high-voltage systems, and improving testing methodologies, contributing significantly to business growth and project funding. Kevin's career began at Cummins Inc., where roles included leading emissions calibration teams and validating new turbocharger designs. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
