Matthew McGovern has a diverse work history that spans over several decades. Matthew began their career in the United States Air Force, where they served as a Lieutenant Colonel and held various leadership roles. As a Deputy Base Commander and Deputy Mission Support Group Commander, Matthew directed multiple squadron programs and ensured the success of over 2,600 Air Force and civilian personnel. Matthew also managed business development and Foreign Military Sales Programs supporting the Brazilian Air Force as the Deputy JUSMAG Group Commander and Air Force Chief.
Following their retirement from the Air Force, Matthew continued their career in the private sector. Matthew worked at Sikorsky, where they served as the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Program Manager. In this role, they oversaw logistics support for the Brazil Navy and Royal Thai Air Force helicopter programs, managing the development and delivery of spares, technical publications, and training.
Matthew then joined L3 Technologies as a Senior Logistics Program Manager. Matthew was responsible for managing a large sales contract between L3 Technologies and the US Navy, leading the development and execution of key logistics support analysis products. Matthew'swork involved executing maintenance plans, task analysis, and provisioning part lists for the development of new sonar support equipment.
After their tenure at L3 Technologies, Matthew joined QuEST-Global as the Senior Program Manager and OKC Site Manager. In this role, they provided senior program management and oversaw operations at the site.
Currently, Matthew is employed at MCR, LLC as the Senior FMS Program Manager.
Matthew McGovern has an extensive education history. Matthew obtained their Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) degree from the University of Connecticut School of Business from 2017 to 2019, with a focus on Management, Marketing, Project Management, and International Business.
In 2000, they completed a Masters of Science Degree (MS) in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Northern Colorado, where they studied from 1981 to 1985.
In addition to their formal education, Matthew has also obtained several certifications. These include the Sikorsky Proposal Management Training Program and the Sikorsky Business Acquisition Management Program, both from Sikorsky in 2010. Matthew completed the UTC Program Management Academy in 2008 and the AFSAC Foreign Military Sales Management Program from the Air Force Security Assistance Command (AFSAC) in 2003.
Matthew has also acquired the DOD Joint Duty Officer Certification, DLl Portuguese Language Program from DLI Graduate, and the DAU Acquisition Program Management Level I from the Department of Defense (DoD) in 2002. Matthew previously held a DOD Top Secret/SCI clearance as well.
