Damon Feltman

Chief Of Transport Layer at Space Development Agency

Damon Feltman has a diverse work experience in the field of aerospace and defense. Damon started their career in 2010 with the United States Air Force, where they served as the Commander of the 19th Space Operations Squadron. During this time, they were responsible for mission operations, personnel administration, and financial management. Damon received recognition for successfully executing the first GPS IIF launch and was awarded the Air Force Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award.

In 2012, Damon became the Executive Officer to the Chief of Air Force Reserve, where they provided support to the Chief of Staff. Damon held this position until 2013 when they joined the Office of the Secretary of Defense as the Deputy Director of Training Programs. In this role, they were responsible for DoD-level training policy affecting over 1.1 million members of the Guard and Reserve.

Damon returned to the United States Air Force in 2014 as the Commander of the 310th Space Wing. Damon led the wing for two years before assuming the role of Vice Commander for the 10th Air Force. As the Vice Commander, they oversaw 18 nationwide units with over 17,000 personnel and an $800 million annual budget. Damon was responsible for various missions, including Space, Cyber, Intelligence, Fighters, Bombers, Rescue, Special Operations, and Command and Control.

In 2016, Damon took on the position of Chief of the Global Space Effects Division at the Headquarters of Air Force Space Command. Damon'sresponsibilities included developing strategies, requirements, and budgeting for satellite communications, missile warning, weather, and ground network programs. Damon also engaged in international partnership efforts with Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the Netherlands.

From 2018 to 2019, Damon served as the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander of the 14th Air Force before transitioning to the role of Associate Chief of the Futures and Concepts Division at the Headquarters of the Air Force. In 2019, they became the Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Operations at the United States Space Command.

In 2020, Damon assumed the position of Deputy Director of Plans, Programs, and Requirements at the Air Force Reserve Command. Damon held this position until 2023 when they joined the United States Space Force as the Mobilization Assistant to the Chief Strategy and Resourcing Officer.

Currently, Damon works as the Chief of the Transport Layer at the Space Development Agency, a position they have held since 2023.

Damon Feltman holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis from Mississippi State University. Damon also pursued a Master's Degree in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota. Additionally, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in National Security Policy Studies from the USAF Air War College. Damon further expanded their education by obtaining an Executive Master of Global Management degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management, specializing in Space Leadership, Business, and Policy.
