Alex Hill is an accomplished astronomer and assistant professor at The University of British Columbia since October 2017. With a robust research focus, Alex serves as a research scientist at the Space Science Institute and as a visiting scientist at the National Research Council Canada, contributing to the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) at the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory. Prior experience includes a senior postdoctoral research associate role at Haverford College, where Alex secured funding to study the magnetic field's role in galaxy interactions, and a postdoctoral fellowship at CSIRO, which involved radio observations of the Milky Way's interstellar gas and magnetism. Alex's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. in Physics from Oberlin College.
