Senior Principal Engineer at SPAN

Senthil Supramaniam has extensive work experience in the software engineering field spanning over two decades.

Senthil currently holds a position as a Senior Principal Engineer at SPAN, starting in October 2022.

Prior to their current role, they worked at Yohana from October 2019 to July 2022 as a Software Architect. At Yohana, they were responsible for building the engineering organization and developing software, services, and hardware for modern families.

From 2014 to 2019, Senthil worked at Google as a Senior Staff Software Engineer. Senthil focused on the Nest backend after Google's acquisition of Nest Labs. In addition, they took on team lead responsibilities for the Data Services team, migrating the data pipeline to the Google Cloud Platform using various technologies.

Before their time at Google, Senthil spent three years as a Principal Engineer at Nest Labs, where they architectured and developed the real-time system that synchronized Nest's device and apps state. Senthil also provided technical leadership within the services team.

From 2006 to 2011, they served as a Senior Software Architect/Engineering Manager at Dash Navigation, where they led the development of the company's service product, introducing the team to new technologies and mentoring junior engineers.

Senthil's earlier work experience includes roles at Apple Computer as a Senior Software Engineer, CVDevelopment Inc as an Architect/Senior Software Engineer, PSS Systems Inc as a Member of Technical Staff, NeoPyx Corporation as a Contract Design Engineer, and Inxight Software as an Architect/Senior Software Engineer. In these positions, they contributed to various projects and technologies, demonstrating their expertise and versatility in the field.

Senthil Supramaniam pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington between 1990 and 1995.
