Simon van Melick

Simon van Melick currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Strategy at Stichting SPARK, where responsibilities include the implementation of a 2030 strategy aimed at creating impactful jobs in fragile and conflict-affected states, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. With a strong background in communications and project management, Simon has also held roles as a Programme Manager and Senior Communications Advisor at SPARK, focusing on higher education and youth engagement. In addition, Simon has contributed to Mamamess as a writer and fundraiser, and served as a campaign manager at BKB | Het Campagnebureau. Simon's entrepreneurial spirit is evident in the organization of various events in Amsterdam through NECTAR, and founding the PLAY International Music+Film Festival. Simon holds a degree in Modern and Contemporary Cultural History from the University of Amsterdam and has completed educational programs at THNK School of Leadership and New School for Social Research in New York City.
