Michael Hanson

Michael Hanson has a diverse work experience, starting in 2003 as a Graduate Research Assistant at UMBC. In 2007, they joined Pfizer as a Senior Principal Engineer and Team Leader Upstream Bioprocess Development, where they worked until 2019. During their time at Pfizer, they also served as an Adjunct Professor of Chemical, Biological, and Pharmaceutical Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2018. In 2019, they joined Spark Therapeutics, Inc. as the MS&T Lab Lead.

Michael Hanson earned a Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University, completing their studies from 1998 to 2002.
