Head Of Ocular Research at Spark Therapeutics

Virginia Haurigot has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Virginia started their career as a Junior Postdoctoral Fellow at UAB - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2007 and continued to work there as a Senior Researcher and later as an Assistant Professor until 2018. In 2009, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Virginia then joined Spark Therapeutics, Inc. in 2018, first as a Pharmacology and Toxicology Lead, then as the Ocular Research Lead and Head of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and currently serves as the Head of Ocular Research.

Virginia Haurigot earned a Biochemist degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Universidad Nacional de Rosario. Virginia then pursued further education at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where they obtained a Master's Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
