Oxana K. Pickeral

Oxana K. Pickeral has over two decades of experience in the healthcare and life sciences industries. Oxana is currently the President at Sparta Systems, a position they have held since March 2021. Prior to their current role, Ms. Pickeral served as the Global Segment Leader for Healthcare & Life Sciences at Amazon Web Services from July 2016 to March 2021. In this role, they were responsible for sales, business development, and marketing strategy for Amazon’s healthcare and life sciences business globally.

Ms. Pickeral also served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for HealthyWomen, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women, from November 2015 to December 2017. During their time with HealthyWomen, they also served as the Strategic Development Committee Chair from April 2013 to December 2015.

Prior to their work with Amazon and HealthyWomen, Ms. Pickeral spent eight years with Booz Allen Hamilton, where they served as the Life Sciences Practice Lead from January 2007 to December 2015. In this role, they advised senior executives of life sciences companies on issues related to strategy, R&D, commercial operations, and organizational design and effectiveness.

Ms. Pickeral began their career in academia, teaching part-time at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School from January 2007 to December 2007. Oxana has also held leadership roles at Chalant Health and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Ms. Pickeral earned their MBA from Duke University Fuqua School of Business and their BA in Biology from Gettysburg College.

Oxana K. Pickeral has a Ph.D. in Human Genetics from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA in General Management / Finance from the same school. Oxana also has ASA 101, 103, and 104 certification from the American Sailing Association.
