Radar Algorithm Engineer at Spartan Radar

Arindam Sengupta, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. In their most recent role as an Algorithms Engineer at Spartan, they are currently employed. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Arizona from June 2019 to June 2022. In this role, they focused on enhancing automotive mmWave radar capabilities through machine/deep learning and sensor fusion techniques.

Before that, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona from August 2018 to May 2019. Arindam also received the 2019 College of Engineering Outstanding Teaching Assistant award. In this role, they instructed and oversaw lab classes for a course on microprocessor organization, covering topics such as C programming for microcontrollers, memory organization, interrupts, timers, and motor control.

Prior to their academic roles, Arindam worked at Cognizant as a Taxonomy Specialist (Team Lead) from August 2017 to June 2018. Arindam was responsible for developing, managing, and implementing product issue taxonomies to improve user feedback and product experience.

Arindam also worked at Standav Corp. in various roles. As a Taxonomy Specialist - Google Feedback from January 2017 to August 2017, they developed and maintained taxonomies for capturing user feedback and conducted workshops to improve taxonomy skills. As a Sr. Product Specialist - Google Search from August 2016 to January 2017, they developed and maintained a taxonomy for user feedback classification and trained offshore teams. As a Product Specialist - Google Play from August 2015 to August 2016, they were responsible for triage categories and escalating defects and feature requests reported by customers.

At the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, Arindam worked as a Jr. Electronics Engineer - Electronics Division from January 2015 to August 2015. Arindam developed and tested digital signal processing firmware using CASPER modules and Xilinx tools for expanding the capabilities of the existing spectrometer.

During their time at The University of Akron, Arindam worked as a Graduate Research Assistant from May 2013 to December 2014. Arindam focused on novel filter design using multidimensional signal processing techniques and implemented algorithms on FPGA prototyping boards. Arindam also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2012 to May 2014, assisting students with programming languages and formatting tools.

Arindam also gained research experience as a Summer Research Intern at Defense Research and Development Laboratory in 2011 and 2010. Their work involved image contrast reconstruction and cell detection using MATLAB.

Arindam Sengupta, Ph.D., completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering from The University of Akron from 2012 to 2014. Their undergraduate education was at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, where they completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from 2008 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Arindam Sengupta also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University through the Coursera Course Certificates program in April 2016.
