Andrew Green

Andrew Green has extensive work experience in hardware and firmware engineering. Currently, they serve as the Director of Hardware and Firmware Engineering at Spectra Logic since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Viking Enterprise Solutions from February 2021 to February 2022 as the Senior Hardware Engineering Manager. In this role, they managed a team of 8 engineers and oversaw the development of content streaming and storage hardware solutions.

Before joining Viking Enterprise Solutions, Andrew held various positions at IBM for over two decades. From December 2005 to January 2021, they worked as a Senior Engineering Manager, responsible for tape storage automation hardware development. Andrew managed a large team of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers and coordinated with other departments for product delivery.

Andrew also worked as a Lead Mechanical Engineer at IBM from February 2003 to December 2005, where they led product engineering for automated tape storage libraries and racks. Additionally, they served as a Lead Test Engineer from June 1999 to February 2003, designing and implementing test plans for new tape automation products.

Andrew began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University, where they conducted research on wear testers for hip replacements and designed a new machine. Andrew also worked as a System Engineer and Graduate Teaching Assistant during their time at the university.

Andrew's experience also includes work as a Process Engineer at CoorsTek and As-Build Engineer at Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies. Andrew held research assistant roles at Colorado State University and Westinghouse Idaho Nuclear Company as well.

Andrew Green earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University in the years 1992 to 1997. Andrew then pursued further education and received an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from the same institution from 1997 to 1999. In addition to their academic qualifications, Andrew has obtained several certifications from IBM, including being certified as a First-Line Manager, Quantum Conversations, Systems Quality Management System, Virtual Collaborator, and Manager. Andrew has also received certifications in Big Data Foundations, Cognitive Practitioner, Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner, Agile Advocate, Agile Explorer, Blockchain Essentials, and Offering Manager - Define, Build & Deliver. Furthermore, Andrew received a patent issuance while working at IBM in October 2018.
