Trevor Back

Trevor Back serves as the Chief Product Officer at Speechmatics, a role held since May 2023, focusing on leveraging speech technology for future AGI developments. Additionally, Trevor is a Trustee at Prostate Cancer Research, contributing to the board and translation advisory committee since June 2020. Previously, as Founder and CEO of Shift Lab from March 2021 to March 2023, Trevor established an Applied AI Lab specializing in manufacturing, supply chain, and e-commerce. Trevor's extensive experience at DeepMind from April 2012 to March 2021 included multiple positions as Product Manager, where significant achievements included leading the DeepMind Health Research team, partnering with leading healthcare institutions, and initiating the mobile clinical alerting application, Streams. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Computational Astrophysics from The University of Edinburgh and an MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leicester.
