Jessica Abejar has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Jessica is currently employed at Spektrix as a Support and Training Consultant, specializing in resources. Prior to this, they held various roles within the same company, including Support and Training Consultant and Support Specialist.

In 1997, Jessica began their freelance career as an Events Specialist, handling event planning, execution, documentation, show-running, and volunteer management. Jessica also worked as a Freelance Dancer/Choreographer, showcasing their passion for dance and choreography in various styles. Additionally, they served as a Group Fitness Instructor, leading classes in POP Pilates and yoga, focusing on safe movement, form correction, and creating a positive atmosphere.

In 2013, Jessica founded The Moving Prayer, a dance company that offers presentations and performances, workshops, and resources to help individuals discover and share their talents. Jessica remains the Founder and Director, as well as fulfilling roles as a Choreographer, Dancer, and Instructor. During the same year, they also became a Youth Columnist for The Filipino Catholic, writing easy-to-understand articles on topics such as family, prayer, and the Filipino-American Catholic experience.

In 2021, Jessica took on the role of Virtual Meeting Host and Coordinator for the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, NY, where they co-host virtual meetings and assists with presentation sharing and session management. Jessica also worked as a Technical Lead for the Dominican Youth Movement USA, designing the technical aspects for the National College "Preaching in Action" Conference and ensuring a smooth online experience.

Aside from this, Jessica has been involved in other roles such as Mini Festival Coordinator for the Sacred Dance Guild, where they worked on a virtual festival with master classes, panels, and live performances. Jessica also served as a Technical Co-Lead and Planning Committee Member for the Sacred Dance Guild's virtual dance conference in 2020, assisting with scheduling, logistics, technical support, and breakout session management.

In 2019, Jessica worked as a Student Success Coordinator for MotherCoders, where they provided support and resources to students learning front-end development skills. Prior to this, they were an Events Consultant and Program Assistant for the Dominican Youth Movement USA, creating event guides and organizing conferences and workshops.

Throughout their career, Jessica has displayed a strong passion for event coordination, dance, education, and technical expertise. Jessica'sexperiences highlight their skills in planning, coordination, instruction, and creating engaging virtual experiences.

Jessica Abejar has a diverse education history. Jessica obtained a Professional Diploma in Meeting and Convention Management from NYU School of Professional Studies. Jessica also completed a web development course at Skillcrush. Jessica holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business, with a minor in Performing Arts and a concentration in Honors, from the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Prior to college, they attended Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, where they focused on Performing Arts.

In addition to their formal education, Jessica has obtained various certifications. Jessica completed an Introduction to Web Accessibility course at The Chang School of Continuing Education, Ryerson University. Jessica is also a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise. Furthermore, Jessica holds certifications as a Certified POP Pilates Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer, and has completed the Heartsaver Infant/Child/Adult CPR/AED course offered by the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association. Jessica has also completed the Institute of Community Action Training at Gibney Dance.

Moreover, Jessica has pursued professional development in the field of meeting and convention management by obtaining a Professional Diploma in Meeting and Convention Management. Jessica has also completed training programs in Safer Spaces/Safe Environment, VIRTUS Training, and received their Yoga Instructor Certification - Level II from YogaFit.
