Lead Lighting Artist at Sperasoft

Denis Blinov has a diverse work experience that spans from 2011 to 2022. Denis started their career as a 1st and 2nd category Civil Engineer at "Nevenergoprom-plus" JSC from November 2011 to June 2015. From March 2015 to August 2016, they worked as a Senior CAD Designer and Backup team lead at ezhome, where they optimized the CAD team's working process and introduced automation.

Following that, Denis worked at Melnitsa Animation Studio from September 2016 to July 2018 as a 3D Artist, specializing in scene assembly, modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing. Denis utilized various software tools like Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Nuke.

From August 2018 to March 2019, Denis worked as a Material Artist at Sperasoft, focusing on procedural materials production using Substance Designer and collaborating with a team of level artists. Subsequently, they transitioned to the role of a Lighting Artist at the same company from April 2019 to March 2021, where they specialized in realistic lighting setup for game environments, as well as optimization and bug fixing. Finally, they progressed to the role of Senior Lighting Artist at Sperasoft from March 2021 to August 2022, where they continued to excel in creating realistic lighting setups and global lighting setups for different conditions.

Throughout their career, Denis Blinov has demonstrated a strong ability to meet client expectations, collaborate with art directors, and consistently deliver high-quality work in the field of lighting and 3D art.

Denis Blinov obtained a Master's Degree in Steam and gas turbines from Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, where they studied from 2007 to 2013. Additionally, they also earned an Engineer's degree in Civil Engineering from the same university, studying from 2010 to 2014.

In terms of additional certifications, Blinov obtained "The Art of Lighting for Games" certification from CGMA | Computer Graphics Master Academy in September 2020. Prior to that, they acquired several other certifications, including "Houdini Essential Training" from LinkedIn in April 2019, "Unreal Essential Training" from LinkedIn in December 2017, "Level Design Basics in Unity" from LinkedIn in October 2016, "Maya 2016 Essential Training" from LinkedIn in October 2016, "Modeling a Cartoon Character in Maya" from Lynda.com in October 2016, and "Unity 5: 3D Essential Training" from LinkedIn in October 2016.
