Laura U

Laura U has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Laura is currently the Director of Operations at Owl Venice since June 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Manufacturing at Spero Foods starting in December 2020. From June 2018 to December 2020, Laura worked as a Partner Operations Manager at All Day Kitchens. Before that, they held the position of Head of Culinary Production at EAT Club from May 2015 to June 2018. Laura also worked as the Executive Chef at Google San Francisco for Guckenheimer from December 2013 to April 2015. Prior to that, they were a Sous Chef at Gate Gourmet from November 2011 to December 2013. Laura's earlier work experience includes being a Professional Line Cook at Nopa Restaurant from August 2010 to October 2011, and an Implementation Manager at Mindways Software, Inc. from July 2008 to July 2010. Finally, Laura started their career in the pharmaceutical industry, working as a Senior Research Associate and later as a Research Associate in Formulation & Development at Gilead Sciences from February 2007 to June 2008 and from July 2004 to February 2007, respectively.

Laura U graduated from Yale University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering. Prior to attending Yale, they attended Skyline Senior High School from 1996 to 2000. In addition to their formal education, Laura U has obtained several certifications. Laura became PCQI certified by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) in July 2021, obtained the Certified Food Safety HACCP Manager (CFSHM) certification from the International HACCP Alliance in March 2021, achieved Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) certification from IASSSC in July 2015, and obtained ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association in January 2021.
