Angela Talley

Senior Vice President, Clinical Development at Spero Therapeutics

Angela Talley has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical development and research. Angela is currently working at Spero Therapeutics as the Senior Vice President of Clinical Development since January 2022. Previously, they held the position of Vice President of Clinical Development at Spero Therapeutics from November 2018 to January 2022.

Prior to their role at Spero Therapeutics, Angela worked at Allergan as the Executive Director of Clinical Development for Anti-Infectives from November 2016 to October 2018. Their responsibilities included developing clinical study strategies, managing regulatory interactions, conducting medical monitoring, and supporting business development activities.

Before joining Allergan, Angela served as a Medical Director of Clinical Development (consultant) at Actavis plc (now Allergan) from January 2015 to November 2016. Angela also worked at Cerexa as an Associate Director of Clinical Development from July 2012 to December 2014.

In addition to their industry experience, Angela also has research experience. Angela worked at the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute in various roles including Principal Scientist, Lead Trials Investigator, and Senior Scientist from May 2008 to July 2012. Prior to that, they served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington from 2008 to 2012.

Angela Talley has a diverse and extensive education history. Angela completed their Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Genetics and African Studies at the University of Rochester from 1989 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where they attended from 1996 to 2001. During their time at Mount Sinai, they also served as a Research Scholar at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) from 1998 to 1999, working in the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

After obtaining their M.D., Angela went on to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at Columbia University from 2001 to 2004. Subsequently, they pursued an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Washington from 2005 to 2008, specializing in the field of Infectious Diseases.

Angela Talley has also obtained board certifications in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine. Angela became board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine in August 2005. Later, in October 2007, they obtained board certification in Infectious Disease from the same institution, further enhancing their expertise in these areas.
