Fook Chiong Cheong has worked in various roles since 2002. Fook Chiong began as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the National University of Singapore from 2002 to 2007. Fook Chiong then moved to New York University, where they worked as a Postdoc Associate with the Center for Soft Matter Research from 2007 to 2011. Their research focused on three-dimensional particle tracking and particle characterization with holographic video microscopy, as well as holographic optical trapping. From 2011 to 2014, they worked as a Design Engineer at Thorlabs. Since 2016, they have been the Chief Technology Officer at Spheryx, Inc.
Fook Chiong Cheong earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the National University of Singapore in 2007. Fook Chiong had previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the same university in 2001.
