Pete Maloney

Pete Maloney has a diverse work experience in the insurance and legal sectors. Their most recent position is as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Spinnaker Insurance Company, which they started in December 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Aon Risk Solutions for five years as the P&C Leader for Financial Institutions. Before that, they were a Partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP from March 2015 to June 2016. Pete also had experience in private practice, where they served as external General Counsel to Stonybrook Capital & Air Warranty Partners, providing legal advice on investment banking and insurance matters. Additionally, they were the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at QBE North America for ten years, overseeing legal operations. Pete initially began their legal career as an Associate at Buchalter Nemer and later worked as Counsel at Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, where they gained expertise in insurance and reinsurance disputes and litigation.

Pete Maloney has a diverse education history. Pete obtained a Certificate in Business Excellence from Columbia Business School between 2010 and 2012. Prior to that, they attended St. John's University School of Law from 1989 to 1992, earning a JD degree with a concentration in environmental law. In their undergraduate years, they studied English at Columbia University from 1981 to 1985, where they received a BA degree. Additionally, Pete Maloney obtained a certification from the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York in June 1993 for admission to the Bar of the State of New York.
