Karen Upson

Karen Upson has extensive experience in the finance and accounting field. Karen began their career at The Coca-Cola Company in 1991 in the roles of Finance, FP&A, Accounting, and Brand Management. In 2000, they moved to FRITO LAY as a Product Manager. In 2010, they joined Taxon Biosciences as a Controller. In 2019, they became the VP Finance at Sound Agriculture. In 2021, they became the Head of Finance and Accounting at BlueOcean and also took on an interim role as Director, Financial Planning & Analysis at Helix. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Spire Health as a Controller.

Karen Upson received their BBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Karen then went on to obtain their MBA in Strategy from Emory University - Goizueta Business School. Finally, they earned their Master's degree in Art History from San Francisco State University. Additionally, they are a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
