Dr. Wendy Crossman

Vice President Strategic Sourcing at Spirit AeroSystems

Dr. Wendy Crossman has diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Dr. Wendy started their career at USD 259 Wichita Public School as an Art Teacher, where they taught grades K-12 and designed curriculum. Dr. Wendy then served in the United States Army Reserves as a Sgt. Medic, responsible for training and developing soldiers.

After that, Dr. Crossman joined Boeing as a Manufacturing Engineering Planner, where they planned parts for various aircraft models. Dr. Wendy later became a Production Manager, overseeing sheet metal production and managing different shops.

In 2005, they transitioned to Spirit AeroSystems, where they continued as a Production Manager, managing sheet metal production and advancing to supervise areas such as heat treat, bag press, and machining. Dr. Wendy then took on leadership roles as Sr. Manager of SCM Strategic Planning and later Director of Supply Chain, where they focused on strategic sourcing and supply chain management.

Dr. Crossman also had a role at Friends University as a Part-Time Adjunct Professor, teaching classes in their field.

In their most recent position at Spirit AeroSystems, they served as the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, leading a team and managing direct and indirect sourcing of aerospace materials, parts, and assemblies. Dr. Wendy developed sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts, and fostered strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.

Throughout their career, Dr. Crossman has demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, and team leadership.

Dr. Wendy Crossman holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Development and Organizational Design from Friends University. Dr. Wendy also obtained a Masters in Business Law (MBL) from the same institution. Dr. Crossman furthered their education at Walden University, where they earned a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) with a focus on Global Supply Chain. Additionally, they hold a Masters in Education (MEd) and a B.A.E.A in Education from Wichita State University.
