Mike McDonough has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry, working in various leadership roles. Mike started their career at McDonnell Douglas in 1988 and served as a Manager to Senior Manager until 2000. Mike then joined Boeing, where they worked as the F-15 Program Manager and later as the Director of Systems Engineering. In 2005, they joined Northrop Grumman and served as the Director of Engineering until 2007. Mike then became the Director of Product Development Infrastructure until 2010. In 2011, they joined Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems as the Tactical Unmanned Systems, Systems Engineering Integration and Test Director. Mike then moved on to Spirit AeroSystems in 2012, where they held the position of Chief Structures and Systems Engineer, Senior Director, before transitioning to the role of Senior Director - Program Manager Strategic Programs. At Spirit AeroSystems, they were responsible for managing the profit and loss for a $5.3 billion design and build of aerospace advanced composite primary structures. Mike also led various responsibilities, including proposal definition, contract negotiation, financial planning, program budget development, product development, factory planning, and customer satisfaction.
Mike McDonough earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Wichita State University, which they attended from 1985 to 1987. Later, they pursued Systems Architecting and Engineering at the University of Southern California from 1998 to 2006.
