Analytical Development Research Associate at Spirovant

Diana Balta's work experience includes being a Research Associate at Spirovant Sciences, Inc. since August 2022, where they lead the upstream activities for the Spirovant Vector Core. Diana performs transfections and cell maintenance for adherent and suspension cells and assists in downstream purification of vector.

Prior to that, Diana worked as a Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Associate at GSK from September 2021 to August 2022. In this role, they were involved in the scale-up process of cells, analyzing sample data, and adjusting bioreactor parameters. Diana was also responsible for making various medias for cell growth and maintaining pH of media. Additionally, they operated, maintained, and troubleshooted various equipment and programs.

Diana also has experience as a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2020 to May 2021. In this role, they assisted Social Psychology professors by holding office hours, grading exams and papers, and answering student questions in class.

Unfortunately, their internship as a Bioanalytical Sciences-Pharmacokinetics and Immunology Intern at Bristol Myers Squibb in June 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The role would have involved laboratory work analyzing kinetics of new oncology drugs.

Diana Balta completed their Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University between 2017 and 2021.
