Ben van der Meij

Ben van der Meij is an experienced maritime professional currently serving as a Vessel Superintendent at Spliethoff Group since February 2022, focusing on vessel maintenance for Brouwersgracht and Bloemgracht. Prior to this role, Ben held the position of Technical Superintendent at Jan De Nul Group from September 2017 to January 2022, overseeing vessel construction projects in China, including the WTIV Voltaire, as well as maintenance for various vessels across multiple regions. Ben's career also includes experience as a Project Engineer at Vroon and a Graduate in Marine Engineering at Dockwise, where a thesis on ocean waves was completed. A solid educational foundation was established with a Master's and Bachelor's Degree in Offshore & Dredging Engineering and Naval Architecture and Maritime Engineering from Delft University of Technology, complemented by leadership experience as Chairman and Sailor for Delft Challenge during sailing competitions.
