Matthew Avery

Matthew Avery is a skilled design engineer currently employed at SPMDesign since June 2021, following a tenure as an AutoCAD Detailer at Derse and ASTOUND Group. With extensive experience in theatrical lighting, Matthew served as Lead Lighting Technician for Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson ONE and contributed as a Lighting Technician for both Michael Jackson ONE and KA. Additional roles include Electronics Technician at Fisher Technical Services and I&D Technician at Specialized Onsite Services, along with a Fellowship Electrician position at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Matthew holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management from Penn State University and two Bachelor’s Degrees in Theatrical Technology and Design and English Language and Literature from Drake University.
