Mitchel Harris

Mitchel Harris has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various sectors. Mitchel is currently working at Sporting Life Group since 2022 as the Director of Learning and Talent. In this role, they have launched a reward and recognition program, developed talent development programs, and initiated professional development initiatives.

Prior to their current position, Mitchel worked at The Home Depot Canada from 2016 to 2022. Mitchel held roles as a Master Trainer, Leadership Development Specialist, and Instructional Designer. At The Home Depot, they facilitated leadership workshops, coached colleagues, and designed instructional materials.

Before their time at The Home Depot, Mitchel worked at Ontario Tech University in 2016 as an Instructor. Mitchel also worked at the Ontario HIV Treatment Network from 2012 to 2016 as an Education & Training Coordinator, where they created professional development opportunities based on HIV/AIDS research evidence.

At Universities Without Walls from 2012 to 2016, Mitchel served as an Instructional Designer & E-learning Developer. Mitchel designed learning modules and blended in-person and online events for PhD students.

Mitchel also had experience at York University as an Instructor in 2015 and at Me to We from 2010 to 2012. At Me to We, they worked as a Research and Development Specialist and as a Leadership Facilitator and Development Coordinator, where they designed educational curriculum, trained staff, and facilitated leadership workshops.

Furthermore, Mitchel worked at Canadian Hockey Enterprises Limited as a Camp Counselor from 2000 to 2005.

Mitchel Harris holds a Master of Arts degree in Political Theory from the University of Toronto, which they obtained in 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & History (First Class Honours) from Brock University in 2008. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained several certifications including being a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Apprentice Professional from the PGA of Canada, Certified Digital Marketing Associate from the Digital Marketing Institute, MBTI Certified Practitioner from Psychometrics Canada, and a Situational Leadership Certified Trainer from The Center for Leadership Studies.
