John Hickey

John Hickey is a seasoned writer and publisher with extensive experience in sports journalism, currently contributing to Sports Illustrated's Inside the Athletics website since February 2020. Hickey has a long-standing role as a writer and blogger for Sportspress Northwest since December 2010 and serves as a freelance contributor for Baseball America. Additional contributions include correspondence for Tokyo Chunichi Press and various baseball publications since February 2001. Previously, Hickey worked as an Oakland A's beat writer for the Bay Area News Group from January 2013 to February 2020, and held writing positions at UC Berkeley Public Affairs and Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Hickey graduated with a B.A. in History and English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
