Duncan Gillis

Duncan Gillis has a diverse and extensive work experience. Duncan currently holds the position of Senior Staff Engineer at SpotHero, starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Engineer at Brex from February 2022 to February 2023. Duncan also has experience at SpotHero, where they served as a Staff Engineer from November 2020 to February 2022.

Before their time at SpotHero, Duncan worked as a Technical Team Lead at Lixar IT from November 2017 to November 2020. In this role, they led multiple full stack development teams, maintained communication with senior leadership and clients, and collaborated with QA and DevOps teams.

Prior to Lixar IT, Duncan worked as a Technical Consultant at Novatech Biometrics from July 2016 to June 2017. Here, they worked on aquaculture projects, developing bioenergetic models and visualizations.

Duncan's work experience also includes a role as a Technical Lead at Dystillr Inc. from December 2011 to July 2016. In this position, they directed product strategy, developed software for data analytics, and worked with clients such as GSN and Morgan Stanley.

Additionally, Duncan worked as a Software Analytics Developer at Karma Gaming from December 2011 to December 2012. Here, they designed A/B test structures, developed programming API, and created internal reporting tools for social games.

Duncan Gillis has studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Dalhousie University, Finance at Saint Mary's University, and Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria.
