Benjamin Gowen

Senior Scientist II at Spotlight Therapeutics

Benjamin Gowen has a diverse work experience. Benjamin began their career in 2006 as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Centre College. In 2008, they were a Summer Research Intern at The Scripps Research Institute. From 2009 to 2015, they were a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley, where they focused on the regulation of cell stress-induced proteins that mark cancer cells for elimination by the immune system. In 2017, they became Co-Founder and CEO at Peregrine Biotechnology, Inc. and in 2018 they were a Senior Scientist at Spotlight Therapeutics.

Benjamin Gowen attended Centre College from 2005 to 2009 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Benjamin then continued their education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2015.
