Shannon McCawley

Research Associate at Spotlight Therapeutics

Shannon McCawley has over five years of experience in research roles. Shannon began their career in 2015 at Baylor College of Medicine as a Research Technician in the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy. Her duties included isolation of PBMCs from whole blood, generation of antigen specific lymphocytes, follow-up monitoring of all enrolled patients, presentation of data, and data analysis. In 2016, they joined Wntrix Inc. as a Research Assistant, where they worked on the synthesis of novel anti-tumor drugs. Her duties included drug-target interaction assays and efficacy analysis, molecular biology techniques, and bacterial and human cell culture. In 2019, they joined Caribou Biosciences as a Research Associate in an immune cell engineering role. Her responsibilities included mammalian cell culture, viral transduction, cell-based functional assay development, in vivo study analysis, and participation in a highly matrixed team environment. In 2021, they joined Spotlight Therapeutics as a Research Associate.

Shannon McCawley received their Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, General from Texas A&M University in 2015. Shannon later attended The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) in 2017, pursuing a Non-Degree in Immunology.
