Director Of Commercial Transportation at SP+

Christian Matthews has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Christian started their career as an Assistant Ski Team Coach at Mount Pleasant High School, where they provided coaching and instruction to high school students in downhill ski racing from November 2010 to February 2013.

Following that, Christian worked at Vagabond Cruise, initially as a Management Intern from May 2013 to August 2013, and then as the Food and Beverage Director from August 2013 to February 2015. In this role, they ensured exceptional dining experiences for guests, supervised staff, managed inventory, and ensured compliance with health and safety regulations.

Christian then joined CID Entertainment as a Freelance Event Manager from March 2015 to May 2015, where they worked on projects such as the BUKU Music and Arts Festival, providing VIP guest services and assisting with event production.

From May 2015 to October 2016, Christian worked as an Event Services Manager at The Inn at Bay Harbor - A Renaissance Golf Resort. In this role, they executed meetings, weddings, conferences, and events, while providing outstanding customer service and managing audiovisual and technology requirements.

Christian's next position was at SP+ (SP Plus), where they held various roles starting from October 2016. Christian initially worked as a Special Event Manager until July 2018, overseeing transportation planning and executing shuttle services for special events with passenger numbers ranging from 5,000 to 145,000. Christian then served as a Senior Facility Manager from July 2018 to October 2019, responsible for all aspects of transit operations, maintenance, budgeting, and client relations. Later, they became a Senior Manager II from October 2019 onwards, analyzing RFP/RFQ for transportation and mobility operations while managing financials, reporting, and project management for transportation operations across North America. In September 2022, they were promoted to the role of Director of Commercial Transportation.

Christian Matthews attended Central Michigan University from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. In addition, they hold certifications in CrossFit Level 1 from CrossFit, Inc. and First Aid and CPR from the American Red Cross.
