Paul Jaikaran

Paul Jaikaran has an extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Paul'smost recent role was as the Chief Technology Officer at Spring Fibre since June 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Technical Director and Board Member at Movicel Telecomunicações from April 2019 to December 2021.

From 2016 to 2021, Paul worked at UK Broadband as the Engineering Director. In this role, they were responsible for the design and architecture of 4G LTE and 5G systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Before joining UK Broadband, Paul worked as a Telecommunications Consultant from June 2015 to April 2016. Paul also served as the Chief Technical Officer at MainOne from July 2014 to June 2015, where they were involved in new product development and network planning.

From 2011 to 2013, Paul worked as the Chief Technology Officer at ipNX Nigeria Limited, where they designed and operated the first FTTx GPON broadband network in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director -Technology/CTO at Vodacom Business Africa in 2010.

From 2007 to 2009, Paul held the role of Group Engineering Director at Gateway Communications, where they were involved in the design and implementation of VSAT Teleport infrastructure, IP networks, and MPLS networks. Paul also worked as the Chief Technical Officer at GS Telecom from 2005 to 2007, managing network systems design and satellite space segment.

Paul began their career in 1992 with The Shell Petroleum Development Company Of Nigeria Ltd. as an Infrastructure Project Engineer, IT consultant, and Corporate Datacomms Engineer. In this role, they oversaw projects to deliver standard communications infrastructure and upgrade data networks.

Paul Jaikaran has attended Imperial College London and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Communications Engineering. Additionally, they have also attended London South Bank University and completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
