Martin L. Lagod has extensive work experience in various roles and companies.

In 1996, they co-founded Solo Energy Corporation, where they served as the CEO and board member. Martin L. was responsible for developing microturbine and clean combustion reciprocating engines for the distributed power market. Lagod successfully raised over $20 million in investment capital for the company.

From 2002 to 2021, Lagod co-founded and served as the managing director of Firelake Capital Management LLC, a venture capital fund specializing in sustainable and renewable energy technologies. Their unique investment model involved collaborating and co-investing with large existing firms in the industry.

In 2020, Lagod co-founded Spring Free EV, a financial technology company aiming to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) through innovative fintech products. Their mission is to reduce CO2 emissions by one gigaton by 2030 by making EVs more accessible to everyone.

In 2022, Lagod took on multiple roles in different companies. Martin L. became a partner at 4-Good Ventures, a venture capital company. Martin L. also became a co-founder, investor, and chairman of Zaru Systems Inc, which provides a financial infrastructure for underfunded entrepreneurs in historically marginalized communities. Lagod additionally became a strategic advisor, board member, and investor at Tukã, a consumer goods product company specializing in Yerba Mate. Tukã aims to establish financial stability for farmers, promote environmentally conscious actions, and provide healthy caffeine alternatives to consumers.

Martin L. Lagod attended Vanderbilt University Law School from 1978 to 1981, where they earned their JD degree in Law. Prior to that, they studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1974 to 1978, where they obtained their BA with honors in Economics.
