Mental Health Therapist at Spring Health

Eric Adelman has a strong background in social work, specifically in mental health therapy and behavioral health consultation. Eric has experience working in various organizations, including Grow Therapy and Spring Health, where they served as a Mental Health Therapist.

Prior to that, Eric worked at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals as a Behavioral Health Consultant. In this role, they conducted evidence-based interventions, provided psychoeducation, and utilized solution-focused modalities to help patients dealing with mental health, substance use, and physical health issues. Eric also managed multiple primary care medicine practices, meeting with a significant number of patients each week and providing timely diagnoses, assessments, and treatment plans.

Eric also served as a Clinical Care Manager at Community Behavioral Health, where they oversaw authorizations and denials of referrals and conducted utilization reviews with psychiatric hospitals and rehab centers to determine the medical necessity of continued stay for clients receiving Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services.

Before that, Eric worked as a Senior Case Manager at Swords to Plowshares, where they provided individual therapy, assessments, and treatment plans for clients in need of housing, mental health support, substance abuse treatment, medical care, legal aid, employment opportunities, public benefits, and other resources. Eric also managed client referrals, led support groups, and ensured the safety of staff and clients through crisis response.

Eric's earlier experience includes working as a Youth Advocate Social Worker at East Bay Children's Law Offices. In this role, they established rapport with foster youth and their caretakers, providers, and stakeholders to gather comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments. Eric also produced reports for staff lawyers, identifying presenting problems and recommending specific services to support clients. Additionally, they trained MSW interns and provided them with constructive feedback on their written reports.

Eric Adelman MSW, LCSW earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Sonoma State University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Eric later pursued a Master's degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University, completing the program from 2012 to 2014.

In addition to their academic achievements, Eric Adelman has obtained two certifications as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). The first certification was obtained in May 2020 from the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. The second certification was received in March 2022 from the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Behavioral Sciences.
