Chris Arreola (they/them/she/her)

Senior Associate, Professional Development at Springboard Collaborative

I began my career in education as a Director of the Campus Academic Resource Program, where I trained and hired graduate students and exceptional undergraduate students to tutor their peers. Afterwards, I taught for 5 years in both charter and public district schools. I taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, and 5th both in English only and Spanish immersion settings. As an educator, my students averaged 1.5 years of literacy growth and outperformed the KIPP network by 20% on their mathematics assessments. Eventually, I became an assistant principal at KIPP, where I helped to raise our early literacy scores by 20%. I have also served as an instructional coach and DEI practitioner with Teach for America as well as a lecturer in the education department at University of the Pacific. My favorite childhood book is "Not Quite Narwhal." A book that celebrates complex, nuanced, and non-binary identities.
