Jess Holbrook is an experienced leader in UX research, currently serving as Partner Head of UX Research for Microsoft AI since July 2024. Holbrook has held significant roles in major tech companies, including Director and Principal Researcher for Generative AI at Meta, where contributions spanned various AI initiatives and products. Prior to that, as Head of UX for Responsible AI at Meta, Holbrook led efforts focused on data transparency and community engagement with AI systems. Holbrook's earlier experience includes leadership positions at Google, where the People + AI research team was founded, and valuable UX research roles at Amazon and Microsoft's early tenure. Academically, Holbrook holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Oregon and a B.S. with honors from the University of Washington. Additionally, Holbrook is a founding editorial board member for the AI & Ethics Journal at Springer Nature.
