Sara Thuenemann, RN, MSN, DHSc has over 20 years of work experience in various healthcare roles. Sara currently serves as the Sr. Director US Medical Lead at SpringWorks Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at GSK as the Director, US Medical Affairs Field Medical - Oncology from 2019 to 2022. In this role, they built and led a field medical team supporting oncology pipeline, executed virtual launch for a first-in-class agent, and aligned field medical strategy with broader medical affairs plans.
Before joining GSK, Sara worked as the Associate Director - US Medical Affairs at Takeda Oncology from 2012 to 2019. Sara also gained experience as a Medical Science Liaison at Human Genome Sciences from 2011 to 2012.
Sara's earlier experience includes roles as a Health Education Professional at Eli Lilly from 2009 to 2011, Clinical Liaison at Schering Plough from 2007 to 2008, Senior Clinical Consultant at Welch Allyn from 2006 to 2007, Clinical Consultant at Biosite Inc. from 2005 to 2006, and Clinical Specialist at Johnson & Johnson (Codman) from 2002 to 2005.
Sara began their career as a Registered Nurse/Travel Nurse, specializing in various areas such as ER (Adult/Pediatrics), IR, NICU, and Critical Care from 1998 to 2002.
Sara Thuenemann, RN, MSN, DHSc has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN-RN) with a minor in Psychology from Barnes College of Nursing. Sara continued their education at South University, earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Nursing Education. Later, they attended A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, where they obtained an Advanced Certification in Leadership and Organizational Behavior in the field of Private, Public, and Global Healthcare. Sara then completed their Doctorate of Health Sciences (DHSc) at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences.
