Joe Cheever

Joe Cheever serves as the Manager of Transit Operations at SPS New England, Inc. since December 2023. Prior to this role, Joe held various leadership positions at the MBTA from November 2013 to September 2023, including Chief of Engineering & Maintenance and Senior Director of Engineering and Maintenance. Joe began a professional career in project management at Attar Engineering, Inc. managing designs and construction for southern Maine developments from 2004 to October 2013. Joe's military experience includes serving as a Captain in the Army National Guard and as Brigade Staff Engineer in a combat deployment with the US Army, earning a Bronze Star. Early in Joe's career, Joe contributed to airfield engineering at Edwards and Kelcey, focusing on major airport projects. Joe Cheever graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from Norwich University in 2001.
