Alan Cruickshank

Alan Cruickshank is an experienced professional in the fields of insights, data science, and engineering, currently serving as the Author & Maintainer for SQLFluff since November 2018, an open-source SQL linter designed for ELT applications. Previously, Alan held various roles at tails.com from November 2015 to July 2024, including Insights Director and Head of Insights, focusing on user research, analytics, and data engineering, among other specialties. Alan's early career includes significant achievements at Stroud International as a Senior Associate and an internship at innocent drinks, alongside leadership roles at Churchill College, Cambridge, where responsibilities included representing the student body and enhancing operational efficiency. Alan holds an MEng & BA (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge and A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, German, and Music from Leeds Grammar School.
