Sumit Punglia

Sumit Punglia has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Sumit started their career at Lehman Brothers as a Senior Analyst in 2006 and worked there until 2008. From 2008 to 2009, they worked at Ganesh Trading Company, handling Edible Oil Trading & Sales. In 2009, they joined Nomura as a Senior Developer and stayed there until 2010. Punglia then worked at Barclays Capital as an Assistant Vice President from 2010 to 2014. Sumit subsequently joined Millennium Capital Management as a Data Analyst (WorldQuant) from 2014 to 2016. Later on, they worked at WorldQuant LLC as an Execution Trader from 2016 to 2017. Currently, Punglia is employed at Squarepoint Capital, where they held the position of Head Trader, APAC from 2018 to 2023 and is currently serving as the Head Trader, EMEA from 2023 onwards.

Sumit Punglia pursued their education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. From 2001 to 2006, they completed a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. During the same period, they also attained a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Microelectronics.
