Job Summary

The HR Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Manager will also oversee the implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Staffing: Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including developing job descriptions and compensation ranges, posting job openings, conducting interviews, advising hiring decisions, initiating background checks, and onboarding employees to our PEO Insperity.
  • Employee Onboarding: Develop and implement an effective onboarding program to ensure new employees have a smooth transition into the company. This includes preparing onboarding materials, coordinating orientation sessions, and facilitating initial training.
  • Employee Offboarding: Manage the offboarding process for departing employees, including conducting exit interviews, ensuring the return of company property, and processing termination paperwork. Ensure that departing employees leave the company on good terms and that feedback is captured to improve retention.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns and grievances, and mediate workplace conflicts. Promote a positive workplace culture and foster a safe and productive work environment.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to ensure employees’ performance aligns with company goals and objectives. Provide guidance and support to managers on performance reviews and employee development.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including workers comp insurance, payroll taxes, and non-discrimination testing. Keep abreast of changes in employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administer employee compensation, 401k, and benefits programs with our PEO Insperity, including managing salary structures, conducting salary surveys, job evaluations, and ensuring competitive and fair compensation practices.
  • HR Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, including the employee handbook. Ensure all HR activities are consistent with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • HR Systems and Reporting: Manage PEO Insperity and maintain HR records, including all employee and compliance documentation. Generate reports and provide data-driven insights to support business decisions.
  • Culture & Team Building: Plan and coordinate two company offsites each year. Implement a schedule of team-building activities to drive employee engagement and satisfaction in a remote environment.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career development. Coordinate and facilitate training sessions to ensure continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of HR management experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.

  • Certification: Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.

  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices. Familiarity with HR software and databases.
