Sophie Kommer started their work experience in 2008 as an Internship Interaction Designer at Fabrique, where they worked on projects for Albert Heijn and Rijksmuseum. In 2009, they worked as a Graduate at Schiphol Group. From 2010 to 2016, Sophie worked as an Interaction Designer at UNITiD, specializing in interfaces and interactions for various clients such as Philips, Zilveren Kruis, KPN, and RTL. Sophie then joined Squla in 2016 as a UX Designer, responsible for designing product engagement features for kids and parents. In 2019, they became the Product Manager Engagement at Squla's parent company, Futurewhiz. Recently, Sophie transitioned to the role of Head of Design at Squla.

Sophie Kommer has a strong educational background in design and engineering. Sophie began their academic journey in 1997 at Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet, where they focused on the profile of natural sciences and technology. After completing their secondary education in 2003, they attended Delft University of Technology, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design Engineering in 2006. Sophie then decided to further enhance their knowledge in design and pursued a Master's degree at the same institution. From 2007 to 2009, they studied Design for Interaction and successfully completed their MSc from Delft University of Technology.

In addition to their formal education, Sophie Kommer has also gained professional certifications to enhance their skills and broaden their expertise. In October 2021, they completed a Leadership Program at Lepaya, an institution known for developing leadership skills.
