Carol Tate is a Senior Education Researcher at SRI International since April 2015, where leadership is provided for the implementation study of the CoolThink@JC initiative in Hong Kong, aimed at fostering computational thinking among primary students. Previously, Tate served as a Course Instructor at Rutgers Graduate School of Education from September 2012 to May 2016, teaching Educational Psychology and Principles of Classroom Learning. Tate's earlier experience includes a teaching position at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, focusing on math and social studies for grades 5-8, and coaching educators in technology integration. Between September 1994 and September 1997, Tate worked as a Research Associate at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, collaborating with Dr. Ernest Boyer to develop curriculum frameworks for elementary education reform. Tate holds a PhD in Learning, Cognition, Instruction and Development and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education, alongside a BA in European History from Brown University.
