Harris Rutbeck-Goldman is an accomplished research physicist with extensive experience in quantum solutions and experimental research. Currently employed at SRI International since February 2021, Harris focuses on quantum applications using atomic vapors. As a postdoctoral researcher at NRC Research Associate since August 2019, Harris has conducted research in quantum networking with a focus on remotely trapped ytterbium ions, demonstrating single-qubit operations. Previous experience includes constructing ion-trapping apparatus at Griffiss Institute and precision measurement experiments at the University of California, Riverside, where Harris earned a PhD in Physics. Additional background includes work with ultrashort pulsed lasers at the US Department of Defense and software development for Red Rhinoceros, Inc. Harris holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
