Mark Pauley

Mark Pauley, Ph.D., is a Business Development Manager at SRI International since 2021, responsible for developing the BioCyc.org platform. As the Founding Principal Investigator of the Network for Integrating Bioinformatics into Life Sciences Education (NIBLSE) since 2013, Pauley leads a nationwide network of over 150 professionals to promote bioinformatics in education, supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Pauley served as Program Director and Lead Program Director for NSF from 2017 to 2020, overseeing funding for basic research. In previous roles, Pauley was a Discipline Editor for CourseSource, an Associate Director at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Bioinformatics Core Facility, and played a pivotal role in establishing the Bioinformatics degree program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and various specializations in Data Science and Computer Science.
