Maria Brucoli has had a diverse work experience in the energy and consulting industries. Maria began their career as a Research Associate at Imperial College London in 2008. Maria then moved on to Arup, where they worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer and Microgrids Consultant for Buildings London from 2009 to 2015. Maria then transitioned to Senior Electrical Engineer in the Energy and Climate Change Consulting department at Arup from 2015 to 2016. Maria then joined EDF Energy R&D UK Centre, where they held the roles of Research Engineer in Smart Energy Systems from 2016 to 2019 and Manager of Smart Energy Systems from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Maria is the Head of Research and Strategic Innovation at SSE Energy Solutions starting November 2021.
Maria Brucoli completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Bari between 1998 and 2004. Afterward, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microgrids at Imperial College London from 2004 to 2008.
