David Malins

David Malins is an experienced energy analytics professional currently serving as the Energy Analytics Team Leader for Offshore at SSE Renewables since December 2021. Previously, David held several roles at ScottishPower Renewables from 2009 to 2021, including Senior Project Engineer for Energy Yield & Performance, where responsibilities encompassed project engineering for wind farms and energy modelling for various assets, as well as senior analyst roles focused on technical capabilities and quality management systems. David's earlier experience includes a research fellowship at the University of St Andrews, involving the design of femtosecond laser systems, and a systems engineering role at QinetiQ assessing military systems. David holds a PhD in Physics from the University of St Andrews, with a specialization in ultrafast lasers and semiconductor optoelectronics.
