Yan Zhu

Associate Professor at St John's University

Yan Zhu, Ph.D. joins the University as an assistant professor of biology. She received her Ph.D. from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School-University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Biochemistry; an M.S. from Wuhan University, China; and a B.S. from Wuhan University, China.

Before joining the Department of Biology at St. John’s, she was associate research scientist at Columbia University. Her research interest is to understand the biological function and molecular mechanisms of the p53-Mdm2 pathway, a promising cancer therapeutic target, in cell growth control and tumor suppression.
