Neel Patel

Neel Patel, MD, MHA has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Neel is currently working at St. Luke's University Health Network as the Medical Director of the Hospitalist service. Neel has been in this role since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Hospitalist at the same organization starting from January 2020.

Before joining St. Luke's University Health Network, Dr. Patel worked at Apogee Physicians as an MD from August 2017 to January 2020.

Neel also served as a Resident Physician at Conemaugh Health System from June 2014 to June 2017. In this role, they were responsible for the initial and ongoing assessment of patients' medical, physical, and psychosocial status, performing history and physical examinations, and developing assessment and treatment plans.

Prior to their residency, they worked as a Clinical Documentation Specialist at Prime Healthcare Services from January 2013 to June 2014. In this role, they applied their clinical knowledge to perform concurrent review and coding of clinical documentation in an acute care hospital.

Dr. Patel started their career as a Research Assistant at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in May 2012, where they were directly supervised by Dr. Emad Aziz, the Research Director. Neel also completed Medicine Clinical Externships at Medical Office, Dr. Golda O Johnson MD, PC, and New York Methodist Outpatient Clinic in 2012.

Neel Patel, MD, MHA has a diverse education history. Neel completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College from 2003 to 2009. In 2019, they pursued an Executive Masters in Healthcare Administration at Cornell University, specializing in Health/Health Care Administration/Management. Neel Patel also holds additional certifications as a Certified Coding Specialist from AHIMA and has obtained the ECFMG certification from ECFMG.
