Dessa Morris has been the Director at St. Mary's Health Care System since November 2015. Prior to that, they were the Marketing Director at George Walton Academy from August 2006 to November 2015. In that role, they collaborated with departments and Board of Trustees to create and execute marketing plans, developed marketing collateral, and developed and implemented strategies for print, online and social media. Dessa also coordinated advertising design, ad buys and placement, and supervised third party vendors. In addition, they represented the organization to the media, business community and general public.
Prior to their work at George Walton Academy, Ms. Morris was the Manager of Foreign Market Development at the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council from January 1996 to December 1998. In that role, they were responsible for developing programs to increase exports of poultry and eggs to foreign markets.
Before their work at the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council, Ms. Morris served as President of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce from January 1994 to December 1996. In that role, they were responsible for leading the Chamber in its mission to promote economic development in Walton County.
Dessa Morris has a BBA in Economics from University of Georgia - Terry College of Business, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Troy University, and is currently doing graduate work toward their MBA in International Marketing from American University. Dessa also has a diploma from Tift County High School. Dessa is certified in Advanced Social Media Marketing from the eMarketing Association.
